I just wanted to ask a simple question about a safety deposit box. Ian just wanted to grab some cash for a weekend getaway. Neither of us expected to be ducking for cover when three masked robbers stormed in, guns drawn, and plans in motion.

As if dodging bullets isn’t enough, there is the news that my mom just won the mayor’s race. She’s already making waves at town hall, which would be fine if my dad—Sheriff Madison—wasn’t grumbling about how much more difficult his job is about to become. Then there’s Josh, my youngest of three brothers and a police officer. He just might lose Kate if he isn’t careful. My best friend Amy is busy with the summer festivals being in full swing and her work with the Willow Lake Historical Society, not to mention her boyfriend Beau—who is worried their romance might be in trouble.
And then there’s Stone—the FBI agent Ian and I thought we saw the last of, but no. He’s back in town, and he’s got that look that says he knows more than he’s letting on.
One thing’s for sure—this heist is just the beginning. And if Ian and I don’t figure out what these guys are really after, the next hit might be a whole lot closer to home.
